Omolola Oloworaran is a seasoned leader in financial services and pension regulation, with over 20 years of experience across capital markets, financial operations, and pension fund oversight. As Director General of Nigeria’s National Pension Commission, she plays a central role in shaping institutional investment strategy and strengthening the country’s pension regulatory framework.
In her current role, Omolola is leading efforts to expand the contributory pension scheme, enhance compliance and governance standards, and unlock new investment opportunities for pension funds. Her leadership is focused on increasing pension penetration, improving fund sustainability, and aligning the industry with global best practices.
Previously, she held senior leadership roles at First Bank of Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC, and Renaissance Capital, driving initiatives in financial innovation, operational efficiency, and risk management. She began her career at Citibank, contributing to the development of Nigeria’s fixed-income trading framework.
Omolola is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and has completed executive programmes at INSEAD and the University of California, Berkeley.
